Terms & Conditions

Effective August 17, 2026

In short

  • Gita Today is a free reading app. There's nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for.
  • It's offered for personal reflection and learning — not as religious, medical, legal, or professional advice.
  • The Sanskrit verses are traditional public-domain scripture; the surrounding explanations and commentary are original to this app.

Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Gita Today (the "App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the App.

What the App is

Gita Today delivers verses of the Bhagavad Gita along with their meaning, an explanation, a real-life example, and a reflection question, either on a schedule you choose or as you browse the chapter library. It's a personal study and reflection tool, not a religious authority or a substitute for guidance from a qualified teacher, counselor, or professional.

Content & intellectual property

The Sanskrit verses and their standard transliteration are traditional public-domain scripture and belong to no one. The explanations, real-life examples, reflection questions, app design, and branding in Gita Today are original work and belong to the App's developer. You're welcome to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial reflection and learning; please don't reproduce, redistribute, or republish the App's original written content elsewhere without permission.

Not professional advice

Nothing in the App constitutes religious, spiritual, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Reflection questions and "practical action" prompts are offered as personal exercises, not clinical or professional guidance. If you're facing a serious personal, medical, or mental health situation, please consult a qualified professional.

Acceptable use

Please use the App as intended: for personal reading and reflection. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the App or its content, and don't use it in any way that violates applicable law.

No account, no purchases

Gita Today does not require an account and, as of this version, has no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or ads inside the reading flow. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Availability & changes

The App is provided "as is." We may update, change, or discontinue features over time, including adding new verses or study tools. We'll try to keep your saved favorites, reading history, and preferences intact across updates, but we can't guarantee it in every case (for example, if you uninstall the App, that data is deleted permanently and cannot be recovered by us).

Disclaimer of warranties

We've done our best to make the explanations, translations, and examples in the App accurate and thoughtfully written, but we make no warranty that the App or its content is error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Sanskrit translation and interpretation naturally involve some nuance and scholarly variation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of Gita Today is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Your use of the App is at your own discretion.

Third-party stores

The App is distributed through Google Play (and, in the future, potentially other app stores). Your download and use of the App may also be subject to that store's own terms of service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised terms.
